Consultant - Data Privacy

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Privacy Compliance:
o Ensure adherence to data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant legal frameworks.
o Develop and maintain data privacy policies and procedures for airline processes and reservation systems.
2. Risk Assessment and Management:
Conduct regular data privacy impact assessments (DPIAs) for new and existing reservation systems and processes.
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with data handling and storage.
3.Data Protection Implementation:
Collaborate with digital and development teams to design and implement data protection measures within airline systems.
Oversee the integration of privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default principles in system development and operations.
4. Training and Awareness:
Develop and deliver data privacy training programs for staff, ensuring awareness and understanding of data protection practices and responsibilities.
Create and disseminate educational materials to promote a culture of data privacy.
5. Incident Response and Management:
Monitor and respond to data breaches or privacy incidents, ensuring proper documentation and notification as required by law.
Conduct investigations into data privacy incidents and work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
6. Vendor and Third-Party Management:
Assess and manage data privacy risks associated with third-party vendors and partners.
Review and negotiate data protection agreements and ensure compliance with data privacy standards.
7.Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of data processing activities and privacy impact assessments.
Prepare and present regular reports on data privacy compliance and risk management to senior management.
8. Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with evolving data privacy laws, trends, and best practices.
Recommend and implement improvements to data privacy practices and systems to enhance compliance and data protection.
Qualifications:
•Proven experience in data privacy, information security, or related fields, ideally within the airline or travel industry.
•Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices.
•Experience with data privacy risk assessments and impact assessments.
•Familiarity with airline reservation systems and related technologies.
•Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
•Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities
Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Data Privacy, Computer Science, or a related field.
