Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Payment Product Manager to lead the development and enhancement of payment solutions across our platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in payment processing, payment gateways, and financial technology (FinTech). You will be responsible for driving the strategy, development, and implementation of payment products, ensuring a seamless, secure, and scalable payment experience for our customers.
As the Payment Product Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, finance, and compliance to deliver innovative payment solutions that meet business and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Develop and execute the product strategy and roadmap for payment solutions, aligned with company objectives and customer needs.
- Identify and prioritize product features based on market trends, customer feedback, and internal stakeholder input.
- Own the full lifecycle of payment products, from concept to launch and post-launch performance.
- Payment Solutions Development
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of payment features and services, including integrations with payment gateways, processors, orchestrator and financial institutions.
- Optimize transaction flows to improve conversion rates, reduce payment failures, and minimize costs across different payment methods.
- Ensure support for global payment methods (credit/debit cards, digital wallets, bank transfers, etc.) and multi-currency processing.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define requirements, set development priorities, and manage product delivery timelines.
- Work closely with operations, finance, and legal teams to ensure compliance with industry standards (PCI-DSS, PSD2) and local payment regulations.
- Partner with marketing and sales to develop go-to-market strategies for new payment features and drive product adoption.
- User Experience & Optimization
- Continuously monitor and enhance the user experience across all payment touchpoints (checkout, refunds, subscriptions, etc.).
- Use data-driven insights to optimize payment performance, improve authorization rates, and reduce chargebacks and fraud.
- Implement A/B testing, user feedback analysis, and transaction performance metrics to iterate on product improvements.
- Market Research & Innovation
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in payment systems, ensuring the company is positioned at the forefront of payment innovation.
- Evaluate and recommend new payment partnerships and technology solutions that align with the company’s goals.
- Conduct competitive analysis to ensure product differentiation and alignment with market needs.
- Risk & Compliance Management
- Ensure all payment products comply with relevant regulations such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, and PSD2.
- Work with the fraud prevention team to implement advanced security features like tokenization, 3D Secure, and fraud detection tools.
- Requirements
- Experience:
- 6-10 years of experience as a Product Manager in payments, FinTech, or eCommerce, with a proven track record of launching and managing payment solutions.
- Strong understanding of payment systems, gateway integrations, and the overall payment ecosystem (processors, acquiring banks, issuing banks).
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with payment processing platforms, payment gateways, and API integrations.
- Understanding of global payment methods, currency conversion, and payment regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, PSD2, SCA).
- Ability to translate complex business needs into clear and actionable product requirements.
- Analytical Skills:
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to drive product decisions, optimize payment flows, and reduce operational costs.
- Proficiency in working with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe analytics, or equivalent).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate product vision and strategy to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering products on time and within scope.
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA or relevant product management certification is a plus.
