Job Description

Job Description:

  • To conduct checks using Inspection Checklist and take the corrective and preventive actions for the observations made. 
  • To report & investigate safety incidents, ensure that the root cause analysis is done, and the corrective & preventive actions are taken
  • To identify, evaluate and report hazards and work towards mitigation of the same.
  • To assist in implementing SMS (Safety Management System) across the network.
  • Compilation of various MIS reports related to ramp practices and incidents etc.
  • To assist in internal safety audits carried out by flight safety or by external agencies.
  • To proactively initiate and sustain the safety culture as per the IndiGo standards and practices by actively being on the ramp and observing working conditions and behaviours, correcting problems and praising good work
  • Check all the staff (6E & GHA) undergoes the ramp safety training before being sent for flight operations.
  • Ensure that the safety briefing is being conducted & documented on daily basis covering maximum staff.
  • Encourage hazard reporting during briefing of drivers and helpers, follow up for mitigation and recognize hazard reporting.
  • To monitor airside operations and safe driving SOPs are being followed.
  • Ensure to check the shift pattern of GHA wrt the weekly off and the overtime on daily basis (all shifts)
  • Conduct Breath Analyzer test for the drivers twice every week across different shifts!
  • Ensure that the documentation is in place (monthly briefing , Marshalling audit, Ramp Safety Audits & GSE audit records)
  • To Engage and communicate with staff about any issues and raise safety awareness.
  • “Be aware of and comply with his / her safety responsibilities and accountabilities as laid down in the IndiGo SMS Manual, Chapter Safety Policy and Objectives.”
